Kichijoji Temple holds an hydrangea festival in late June when nearly 1500 hydrangea bloom all at once. Hydrangea are planted over the entire surface of one side of the slope to the western side of Kichijoji Temple which are wonderful to look upon. Gazing over the town from the promenade provides a spectacular sight.
