Utsunomiya City Forest Park is located about 30 minutes by car from the city center and the parks area is approximately 500ha, the majority of which is made up of forest.Akagawa Dam and Mount Kogashiyama are located within the park, while the forest itself is a national forest made up of beautifully arranged Japanese cedar trees. The park was selected as one of Japan's 100 best water spring forests in 1995.There are camp areas, barbeque areas, cycling roads and a trim course centered around the Akagawa damn, making it an outdoor spot where visitors can enjoy fishing and hiking.
