The former town of Kuzuu was well known as a source for limestone. Fossils are often found in the area because animal bones do not dissolve away in the calcic soil. Fossils of primitive man were found in the former town of Kuzuu , and this find was called "Kuzuu primitive man" and generated a lot of interest, but later surveys found that the bones did not actually come from primitive man. However, the people of the former town of Kuzuu continue to keep the dream of the primitive alive and hold a "primitive man festival" in August of every year, where the entire population of the former town joins together. The Kuzuu Fossil Museum displays the fossils of animals and the "Kuzuu primitive man" found in the town, and it well loved by the residents.
