Yoshizawa Shodo was a famous painter who studied painting under Takaku Aigai in the 1800's. Thereafter, the "Yoshizawa Collection" of 515 works collected by the Yoshizawa family for 5 generations over 200 years was donated to Sano City (former town of Kuzuu) and is currently on display at the Yoshizawa Memorial Museum of Art. There are a variety of different works in the "Yoshizawa Collection", including works of national treasure level. The Yoshizawa Memorial Museum of Art displays modern works and ceramics by famous artists, and is a truly charming museum.
