It is said that Koshoji Temple was built 1223 years ago on the peak of Mt. Iwafuneyama, where it is believed the spirits of the dead gather. Koshoji Temple is also known as being a guardian of children for pregnancy, safe birth and child-rearing, and the also has a pagoda and temple gate as well as other fantastic structures on the temple grounds which are designated as Prefectural Tangible Cultural Assets, making it truly worth visiting.
