The Tochigi City Hall Annex was built in 1921 as the city hall for the town on the site of the former prefectural office. A 2 floor wooden structure building of approximately 930 square meters, there is a clock tower on the roof, and the building, canal, and bridge all use similar designs to better balance, making for a truly spectacular piece of scenery. The building was designated as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 1998 as an important western style building from the Taisho Era.
