The Momijidani Otsuribashi (Maple Valley Suspension Bridge) is a 320m long suspension bridge suspended from the Shiobara Dam downstream of the Hokigawa River which runs through the Shiobara Ravine. The bridge has no reinforcing solid beams to prevent sway and is the longest suspension bridge in Japan, leading it to be called the “Longest skywalk in Japan”. The view of the bridge and the mountains around it reflected in the lake surface is breathtaking and the bridge offers wonderful views for visitors in every season including the new green of spring, the changing colors of autumn and the snowy landscape in winter.
