Okada Memorial Museum is located 1km north of Tochigi City Hall. The Okada home of the Okada Memorial Museum is a very old home with more than 550 years of history, and also served as a base for wars during the Edo period. Materials that introduce the history of the Okada family are on exhibition in the in the Dozou warehouses still remaining on the large 4000 square meter site. The Okada family is said to have built a village in a wild, undeveloped area and provided the residents with leadership and contributed to the stable creation of the village.
