Together with the Ceramic Art Messe Mashiko, the Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art is a complex presenting the wonders of Mashiko pottery.On display are project exhibits as well as works produced by the living national treasure Shoji Hamada (now deceased).On the grounds are the former home of Shoji Hamada, climbing kiln, a hall dedicated to woodblock printer Kihei Sasajima and a pottery workshop. Visitors to the workshop can make their own pottery using a potter's wheel, forming pottery by hand and painting designs onto their work.
