Iwamura Kazuo Ehon-no-Oka Art Museum was made to be a place where visitors can enjoy both the world of picture books and the nature of the outlying mountain villages where such stories take place.The museum opened in April 1998. It looks down on the fresh waters of Nasu's Naka River from atop a beautiful hill.The hill, named Ehon-no-Oka (meaning "Picture Book Hill"), is a font of storytelling where one can enjoy the world of picture books in every season, encounter the creatures that live around outlying mountain villages and hear the voices of children.
