Nakamachi Yatai Float Park is a facility for the exhibition and storage of yatai floats. The Nakamachi yatai floats are used during the "Kanuma Imamiya Jinja Shrine Festival Yatai Float Event" designated as a Significant Intangible Folk Cultural Asset that is held on the second satuday in October of each year, and are plain wood carved floats which were made in the year 1836. The yatai floats are decorated with magnificent peony and peacock design shoji dividers and Oniita and Gegyo dragons on the top of the float. Be sure to look at the precise and minute wood carving on the "ranma" grating of flowers and birds and other designs which were in fashion at the time of the floats creation.
