Anju Shrine was constructed in 899. It primarily confers blessings including warding away evil spirits, deviation from one's destiny, and disaster.The gohonden (main hall), designated a cultural property by Tochigi Prefecture, is mostly painted in a vivid vermilion.Anju Shrine is popular for having the Kanto area's largest torii gate, which stands 12 meters tall and 10 meters wide, as well as for the golden guardian lion-dogs.
