It is said that there are 48 waterfalls in Nikko, however Kekon no Taki is the most famous of these. This is one of the 3 great waterfalls of Japan. Using the elevator to climb to the observation platform, visitors can experience the overwhelming power of the 97 meter high falls close by. From January to February Kegon no Taki freezes into several smaller waterfalls known as the "12 Falls" and is decorated with blue ice presenting a nearly mystical appearance.
