Located on the eastern side of the mountain trail on Suwadake, Daijiji Temple is covered in flowers throughout all four seasons. There is also a monument to the peerless beauty Ono no Komachi, who it is said had a poem competition with Yakushi Nyorai on the temple grounds. Jikaku Daishi Ennin, the 3rd head of the Tendai Buddhism sect, who is said to have sailed on the last official envoy ship to the Tang Dynasty in China, is enshrined in the temple, and visiting Daijiji Temple allows one to experience an era long past with all one's senses.
