Hotoku Ninomiya Jinja Shrine is dedicated to the famous Ninomiya Kinjiro. Kinjiro was born to a farming family in 1787 and the industrious symbol of him striving to learn as a young boy while working is still used today as an example for children. Later in his life as a government official he saved many farmers from starvation and succeeded in revitalized one farming village after another, sacrificing to improve the world around him throughout his life. This shrine sees large numbers of visitors every year praying for academic success and success in life.
